Cheese boards and paddle boards made in Perth

Our cheese boards and paddle boards are handmade from Western Australian timber offcuts in Herne Hill. Paddle shapes have a handle and a hole for hanging. Other boards are hearts, leaves or soft waves. All are finished with food-safe oil and beeswax, and no two are the same.

What styles of cheese board do we make?

  • Paddle boards with a hole for hanging, in striped, pale and jarrah timbers.
  • Handled boards with wrought-iron, steel or scroll handles.
  • Shaped boards such as hearts, leaves and wavy edges.

Each shape comes from the offcut itself.

Where can you buy a cheese board in Perth?

We sell at the Swan Settlers Markets in Herne Hill every Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 5pm. Boards hang on the stall wall, so you can pick one up and feel the weight. You can also send an enquiry for a size or shape.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between a paddle board and a cheese board?

A paddle board has a handle, so you can carry it to the table and hang it on a hook afterwards. A cheese board is usually a plain shape. Both are made from the same timbers, so the choice is about how you want to use it.

Can I cut cheese straight on the board?

Yes, with a soft cheese knife. For hard cutting jobs, an end-grain chopping block is the better tool because it is kinder to your knife.

Do you make boards in shapes like hearts?

Yes. Past boards include heart, leaf and wavy-edge shapes. Ask if you want a particular shape for a gift.
